The Armed Forces Covenant is a voluntary pledge by businesses and organisations to support the defence community — serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. By signing, we make concrete, public commitments to act fairly and remove disadvantage wherever we can.
- 01
Reserve Forces leave — We support and accommodate requests from employees and collaborators who are members of the Reserve Forces (Army Reserve, Royal Naval Reserve, Royal Marines Reserve, Royal Auxiliary Air Force) to take time off to attend annual training and exercises. This is taken as annual leave or agreed flexible leave — we will not refuse reasonable requests and will not disadvantage anyone for making them.
- 02
Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) support — We support team members who volunteer as CFAVs with the Air Training Corps, Army Cadet Force, Sea Cadet Corps or Combined Cadet Force by offering flexible scheduling around parade nights, training weekends and annual camps. This is taken as annual leave or agreed flexible time — we will always accommodate reasonable requests.
- 03
No disadvantage — We will not disadvantage any employee or applicant because of their service, Reserve status or Cadet Force involvement. Service experience is experience, and we recognise it as such in hiring decisions.
- 04
Veteran-friendly hiring — We actively recognise the skills, discipline and work ethic that military service develops. Veterans and ex-Cadet Force members are always welcome to apply, and we will seek to understand transferable skills during our recruitment process.
- 05
Deployment support — Should any team member be deployed or mobilised, we will fulfil our obligations under the Reserve Forces (Safeguard of Employment) Act 1985 and support their smooth return to work.
- 06
Community awareness — We will use our platform and content channels to raise awareness of Armed Forces events including Remembrance, Armed Forces Day and the Reserves Day where relevant.
